Digital campaigning in Karnataka

Digital campaigning has become an engineered process whereby political parties target electorates almost precisely. I explore the digital strategies of three main in Karnataka – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC) and Dal Secular (JDS) during 2019 national election based on interviews with social media campaign teams Bengaluru. Along parties’ traditional ground campaigns massive rallies, booths streets, canvassing, posters or billboards, was integral part each party’s indispensable means reaching out to electorate mobilizing voters. The cells focused posting daily multiple times a day Facebook, Twitter, Instagram WhatsApp. Different divisions were responsible for rebuttals as well party advertising platforms. BJP INC ran professional operations, more mature operation by BJP. JDS still nascent stage campaigning.
